80 Jahre luxemburgische Nachkriegsarmee
Im Juli 1945 traten die ersten luxemburgischen Wehrpflichtigen der Nachkriegsarmee ihren Dienst an – ein historischer Neubeginn nach den Zerstörungen des Zweiten Weltkriegs. Zehn Jahre später, am 10. Juli 1955, bezogen Soldaten die neu errichtete Kaserne auf dem Härebierg – bis heute das Herzstück der Armee. Die Ausstellung beleuchtet die Entwicklung seit 1943: Luxemburgs Beitrag in den alliierten Streitkräften mit Freiwilligen in der belgischen Brigade Piron,den mühsamen Wiederaufbau der Armee, ihre Verankerung in Staat und Gesellschaft sowie die Entwicklung militärischer Infrastrukturen.
80 years of the Luxembourg post-war army
In July 1945, the first Luxembourg conscripts joined the post-war army – a historic new beginning after the destruction of the Second World War. Ten years later, on 10 July 1955, soldiers moved into the newly built barracks on the Härebierg – which remains the heart of the army to this day. The exhibition traces developments since 1943: Luxembourg's contribution to the Allied forces with volunteers in the Belgian Brigade Piron, the arduous reconstruction of the army, its anchoring in the state and society, and the development of military infrastructure.
